A local man completed more than 900 circuits of his house to help the care and support provided at Eden Valley Hospice during these challenging times.
A local charity is encouraging people to make the most of their time outdoors by completing a mile every day in May to help the care, support and compassion provided to local people.
Throughout May members of a local junior football team will make the most of their daily exercise as they virtually walk from Brunton Park to Wembley in aid of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.
Not every superhero wears a cape. But on National Superhero Day Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice are encouraging the local community to immerse themselves in all things superheroes to support their care during these challenging times.
Draped along the greatest heights of the Himalaya, Nepal is where the ice-cold of the mountains meets the steamy heat of the Indian plains. To celebrate the hospice’s 30th Anniversary in 2021, we will be hosting a special fundraising challenge to Nepal.

In September 2019 Jenny Pike challenged herself to complete the Great North Run in memory of her daughter, Anna, who was cared for at Eden Valley Hospice.
As key workers, both our clinical and support staff teams are still here for our community.
It’s not always easy to know how to talk about dying. Awkwardness, embarrassment and fear means we tend to shy away from connecting with those who are dying or those who are grieving. But when we don’t talk about what matters it can increase feelings of isolation, loneliness and distress.
