Team Leader - Registered Nurse
Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) and part time hours will be considered, flexible over 7 days
Starting salary FTE £33,512 p.a up to FTE £39,290 p.a (plus shift enhancements), depending on skills and performance
We’ve recently reviewed our organisational structure, leadership, values and workforce to ensure Eden Valley Hospice is able to work in a dynamic manner and to provide responsive, specialist care for many years to come. As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for forward thinking, enthusiastic, and committed Team Lead to join our energetic, friendly, specialist palliative care team.
Based in Carlisle, we have a 10-bed inpatient unit, day hospice and children’s hospice. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to operate our services more flexibly than in the past, and your main focus will be on the adult inpatient unit.
Eden Valley Hospice works collaboratively across the county with strong links to other care providers. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for ensuring that research-based nursing care is provided to patients, carers and relatives. You will assist with the management of the nursing team across all shifts, providing clinical leadership and acting as a role model in the delivery of high-quality patient care. Due to excellent staff to patient ratios, you and your team will have time to care for and build relationships with patients and their families. You will be given protected time for leadership and service development whilst remaining clinically credible.
The hospice’s vision is to provide excellence in specialist palliative care and to ensure patients receive consistently high standards of care in all care settings within the organisation. There is a culture of reflection, training, supporting and development for staff, with access to regular clinical and management supervision. Eden Valley Hospice provides a creative and unique environment with many opportunities for personal and professional growth and pay progression. A willingness to advance skills is therefore essential.
Our clinical teams are at the heart of everything we do. We appreciate that, as a charity, we may appear to be a less stable option than other healthcare employers. However, we celebrate our 30th anniversary this year and plan to be around for many years to come. Whilst we can never be complacent about the scale of the fundraising challenge that we continually face, the success of our income generation efforts and our prudent approach to managing our resources will ensure that we remain financially secure.
